Booking Service

We have many years experience of travelling to and from France and would be pleased to arrange ferries, driving itineraries, overnight stops, or flights and hire cars, if required. This service is offered at cost.

With regard to ferries, the main operator on the western channel routes remains Brittany Ferries, who serve Caen and St. Malo from Portsmouth. Their contact details are  www.brittanyferries.com or by telephone 0871 244 0744.

However they have been joined by two new (associated), generally cheaper, companies:-

  • LD Lines who operate from Portsmouth and Newhaven to Le Havre (www.ldlines.co.uk, telephone 0844 576 8836) and,

  • Transmanche Ferries, from Newhaven to Dieppe (www.transmancheferries.com, telephone 0800 917 1201 (Transmanche are currently operated by LD Lines under licence.)

By Car

  • To locate Les Sabots please use the Map link. Precise  directions will be sent with your booking confirmation.

  • Les Sabots is about 65km (40 miles) west of junction 56 on the A20 Paris - Toulouse motorway (green road on map) and 160km (100 miles) east of Bordeaux.

  • The channel ports of St. Malo and Caen are about 630km (390 miles) from Les Sabots.

  • Using an overnight ferry, and with a reasonable number of driving breaks for lunch etc., Les Sabots can easily be reached by the early evening.

  • Alternatively stopovers in the Loire are convenient.
